Aero had a great representation at Farnborough International Airshow 2016
AERO Vodochody AEROSPACE attended Farnborough International Airshow, the biggest aviation event for the year 2016. The company has attracted a lot of attention – people of Aero attended dozens of meetings and hundreds of visitors came to see our stand and get information about our aircraft.
As the first official event with participation of the new President and CEO of the company, Farnborough International Airshow (FIA) had a top priority in the last weeks of June. We have prepared a new version of company leaflet and updated the L-39NG brochure to present the latest data and information about the company and its products.
During the first week of July, our CEO Giuseppe Giordo was interviewed by the three major aerospace media, Aviation Week, Flight Global and Asian Defence Technology. The main topic was clear – plans for the future of Aero Vodochody. Mr. Giordo praised the remarkable heritage of our company and drew the future direction of the company which should focus on proprietary products and major cooperation programs with involvement of the new technologies and materials like composites.
On Monday 11 July, the show has finally opened for trade visitors. Even after years of experiences with the major air shows, the amount of people coming to Farnborough was overwhelming. It is not a surprise – FIA hosted 1500 exhibitors from 52 countries and during the five trade days, 73,000 visitors came to the show!
The trade days were very busy for Aero team – our top management had several meetings with leading aerospace companies, Airbus, Boeing, Embraer or Bombardier, we hosted official delegations from Algeria, Argentina, Austria, Chile and Peru and also official Czech delegation. Besides that, members of our team had dozens of other B2B meetings and informal reunions not only on our stand but also all over the exhibition area.
However, our highlight of the Farnborough International Airshow 2016 was a press conference “From heritage to future growth: Corporate strategy”, where president and CEO of Aero Giuseppe Giordo presented his plans for the future of the company. Several journalists visited the conference and our event had a coverage in the main media during the show. The speech of Mr. Giordo has attracted attention not only to the company, but also to our main proprietary products – L-39NG, new generation of legendary jet trainer, and advanced light attack aircraft L-159.
Aero used FIA also for strengthening our current partnerships. We shared the stand with our partner in L-39NG project, Omnipol, and the first customer for L-39 re-engining, LOM Praha. We were also happy to meet our dear partners from Draken International and Williams International.
Overall, this year Farnborough International Airshow was a great success for Aero.
